Rose Castle Garden with its 800 year history is now a restful, peaceful sanctuary.
Gardens are made by a succession of generations who each re-imagine nature and our human relationship within its sanctuary. Our head gardener Janet Queen is challenged daily to bring pockets of their illusions to life through the calendar year and across our diverse garden canvas.
Rich diversity of habitats includes ten main garden areas which each have their own remarkable history and showcase a range of plants, textures, colours and scents.
Our trees include native Oaks thought to be 300 years old, and non-native trees planted over the centuries for ornamental effect.
Up a ladder, wrestling with the lawn-mover, or keeping the Castle Drive choreographed for aesthetic delight are examples of our many priorities.
