Space to make your own

It's all yours

You have arrived. Enter your castle through the sliding doors of St. John’s porch.

Make your way through the light filled vestibule. The original door lock, a gift to the bishop from the wealthy Clifford family in 1673, still remains.

As you step inside, a roaring fireplace welcomes you. Look up to the grand sweeping staircase, lovingly restored to its former glory. Paintings of the Bishops Thomas Smith, Edmund Law, and George Fleming hang above the staircase, a reminder of some of those illustrious residents who also stayed here.

Now it’s your turn. Create your own piece of history.

6 historic reception rooms, 15 bedrooms and 7 acres of carefully curated gardens and grounds are all yours.

Make yourself at home. This is your castle.

The State Drawing Room

As you ascend our oak staircase, on the first floor of the castle, you’ll find the State Drawing Room. Often the favourite room of the house. With its 19th Century meticulously hand-painted Chinoiserie wall coverings, this is the most exquisite space in the castle and certain to delight your guests. A grand space, that’s warm and welcoming. The hand carved fireplaces have been recommissioned for wood log fires, and with views across the grounds from the large bay windows, you’ll feel a real peace here. A sense of being at one with yourself, with family and friends, with the surroundings. You’re home, after all, in your very own castle.

The Lumley Room

At the other end of  The State Drawing Room, step into The Lumley Room, a cosy, informal space for your guests to relax. A large screen TV can be utilised for any guests wanting to catch up on the news, sport or favourite shows. A perfect retreat for the kids, so the adults can have some time together in The State Drawing Room next door. Netflix, PlayStation, anything you need, we can make it happen. For corporate events, the space is ideal for a break out room during the day or as a more intimate space to socialise in the evening around the working stone fireplace.

The Chapel at Rose Castle

The Chapel, at the top of the grand staircase, is a light and airy space flooded with colour from the Victorian stained glass windows.

Wedding ceremonies can be held here, with seating for 80 guests and capacity for an extra 20 if needed. Make your way to the altar accompanied by music from the grand piano.

If you’re here for a corporate event, weekend escape or family occasion, you can opt for use of the Chapel during your stay.
