4. Zip line and abseiling
Want to really turn things up a notch? Zip lining or abseiling is sure to push your team out of their comfort zone! They’ll come back to work with newfound confidence and a fresh burst of energy. Keswick Adventures have been delivering exhilarating outdoor adventure activities in the Lake District for over 20 years. Zip line through the beautiful Lake District, or have them come to the castle and set up a course just for you. Anyone for abseiling down the Strickland Tower? With Keswick Adventures’ experienced and highly qualified instructors, you and your team will be in safe hands.
5. Air rifle shooting
Back down on land, why not try your hand at air rifle shooting? The Lake District is home to countless shooting opportunities, meaning teams staying at Rose Castle will be spoilt for choice. The Outdoor Adventure company has a dedicated woodland area where you can learn how to hold and take out simulated animals by a fully qualified and experienced instructor.
6. Hiking
If you’re looking for a more mindful experience, a hike in nature offers a great chance to talk, think and reflect away from the workplace. Teams staying at Rose Castle have the beautiful Lake District on the doorstep. Tackle the Fairfield Horseshoe trail, Helvellyn Ridge or Scafell Pike - the choice is yours!
7. Fishing
How about something more calming, like a spot of fishing? It will provide an opportunity for your team to form stronger relationships and feel a sense of adventure. Teams staying at Rose Castle have the River Caldew on the doorstep. Cast a line for trout at sunset before settling down for a banquet dinner. There’s a fishing adventure for all abilities, and the Rose Castle team will arrange permits, equipment and tuition for you.
8. Whisky tasting
Looking to unwind at the end of a hard day talking strategy and budgets? You and your team can enjoy a whisky tasting experience - suitable for whisky lovers and first-timers alike. The Lakes Distillery offers bespoke tastings and tours for a truly unique experience. Head whisky maker Dhavall Gandhi takes inspiration from the UNESCO World Heritage site where the distillery has been built within a 160 year-old farmstead on the banks of the River Derwent. Tastings can be held at the distillery, in the elegant private dining room. Or have them come to you and set up in the State Dining Room, or the Nicholson Room for a more intimate experience.
