Tour Our Beautiful Gardens - Thursday 23rd May

Explore our gorgeous gardens with Janet Queen, Rose Castle’s Head Gardener on Thursday 23rd May at either 10.00am or 2.00pm. Afterwards, relax in our grand State Dining Room with a hot drink and a scrumptious slice of cake.

Garden Tour With Janet Queen, Rose Castle's Head Gardener

Janet will lead you around our beautiful gardens, from the Bishop's Lawn in front of the castle, to our walled Pettinger's Garden with fell views, across to the Apothecary's Garden, set against a border of yew and beech hedges.

Amble through our orchard, home to a variety of apples, pears, damsons, greengages and plums, including Cumbria’s own Keswick Codlin apple. Sheltered beneath a beech hedge and sandstone wall you’ll find the vegetable garden, flourishing with produce for the castle kitchen. Be sure to stop at the beehives.
